Salespeople and professionals know that each day will present them with unexpected interruptions. And if you let interruptions throw you off track, then you’re not looking realistically at your work!

Phones ring, urgent meetings take place, crises occur.

It happens to everyone everyday. So, it’s up to you to manage these so-called “unexpected” situations. And how do you do that?

Well, one way is to build buffer time into your daily plan.

Action – Don’t schedule all of your 8 hours – plan only six.

And those six hours need to include everything – meetings, phone calls, email time and administrative work.

Then, when the “unexpected” happens, you’ll have room to maneuver. And, if by some chance you have a day that pans out exactly as planned – great! You’ll have some built in time to get ahead.
