Most books have a dedication section that’s used to acknowledge and thank people who have contributed to the author’s creation.
I wonder who I would acknowledge in my own book?
So many people have helped me along the way – parents, siblings, professionals, teachers, colleagues, and friends. They’re all special people who’ve stood beside me, often laboring on my behalf without expectation of reward or recognition.
Action – Imagine you’ve just finished your literary masterpiece. The editor has asked you to complete your dedication page. Who would you thank? Who would you like to recognize for giving you that kick in the pants of motivation, a word of encouragement, or just an ear for pouring your troubles into?
Write your acknowledgements in full, including what each person has contributed to your achievements. If you can, send each one a copy of your appreciation.
