I recently signed up for a new piece of online technology. And what happened next shocked me!
About a week later, I opened my mailbox and found a ‘snail mail’ welcome letter. That’s right – an actual letter…on a piece of paper…in an envelope! I couldn’t believe it! I was absolutely stunned! I do not remember the last time I got something in the mail from an online company, unless it was of course a retail purchase.
Let me tell you – that one piece of snail mail certainly caught my attention in a positive way!
I use regular mail now more than I did a year or two ago. I send follow-up correspondence, letters of reference or referral and simple thank you cards.
Action – Want to get attention? Use the personal touch more often. Move away from the computer generated forms and messages whenever possible. It will have a positive impact!
