The Swedish diplomat and economist, Dag Hammarskjöld, said – ‘in the last analysis, it’s our conception of death that decides our answers to all the questions that life puts to us.’

I think he’s hit the nail on the head, because what we believe always drives our behavior.

For example, Buddhists believe in karma and reincarnation, so they live with the concept that their behavior follows them from life to life.

Christians believe in life after death and a final judgment so they live thinking that there will be consequences for their actions after they die.

Atheists believe in the finality of death, so they live feeling that they have one chance right now.

And on a smaller scale, your beliefs about success, failure, pain or happiness drives the actions you take.

Action – It’s worth knowing what your beliefs on wealth, death, morality and so on actually are. What do these words really mean to you?

  1. Those words mean to me that my today affects my tomorrow and on judgement day my prayer is that the response is a job done well.

  2. I have never thought about it this way, but when you live knowing that your actions can hurt yourself or others and strive to do only good, there is more joy, peace, patience, kindness and love to go around.

  3. I believe in living a life with ethics, fundamental for me. I believe everything you do bad or good has a consequence, for every action there is a reaction. I believe in not judging or criticizing you never know what each person is going through or the reason of their behavior, taking nothing personal as every person is looking for their own interests. I don’t support gossip it could do a lot of damage, gossip can destroy people, families, marriages, etc.. I believe in always help others. I believe in appreciation of things, everything you have your home, food, health, work, family, friends, its important to have gratitude for every little thing, I watch people on the street on wheelchair, or blinds, selling candies, so we shall appreciate that some of us are not living or having those conditions, which doesn’t mean that is bad because every person has a different learning in life but it made me think how we shall appreciate and be thankful. I believe that everything is determine on your attitude and how you react to things in life will lead you. How do you know you are making a good decision, when the decision you area taking it only affects you and not a 3rd person. Honesty, transparency, respect, authenticity in relationships.
