Many people spend time they can’t afford catching up with things. Overwhelmed professionals actually spend about 70% of their day doing tasks that are unproductive or take them away from their priorities.

So one of the most important choices you can make is to not get caught up catching-up!

Action – To reduce the time you spend catching up, track your time for three weeks. Go through each day and total up how much time you spend in three different categories:

  1. Wasted time
  2. Urgencies
  3. Priorities

First, schedule your priorities because they directly relate to your goals and then spend at least 50% more time in this category of activity each day.

Next, figure out how to get rid of wasted time.

Finally, work to eliminate urgent items because they are the result of non-urgent tasks that are mismanaged.

Schedule your priorities and make them happen!
