People often think that to be considered a great leader, they must do something really big and significant. But as author Charles Simmons so aptly put it, “true greatness consists in being great in little things.”
In research, people have made these statements about what makes a great leader:
- She is consistent and you know where you stand with her
- He pays attention to what we say to him
- Every day, she takes time to find out what is important to us
- He is positive even when we face a challenge
- She is confident in herself and in us
- He is accessible and open
These are not grandiose, earth-shattering actions. Instead, they are small behaviors and ways of being that we can demonstrate every day. And they are considered great.
Action – How could you create more greatness in your own life today?
