Like many kids past and present, I grew up with Dr Seuss books. I loved The Cat In The Hat, Green Eggs and Ham and Horton Hears A Who.

Dr Seuss’ writing style utilized different poetic meters to draw his readers in. He also created a sense of rhythm that children naturally enjoy.

But I must admit, even now I continue to be drawn to his writing for its sheer simplicity and child-like view of the world. There are several short verses that sit in my collection of writings. This is one of them:

I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind
Some come from ahead and some come from behind
But I’ve bought a big bat, I’m all ready, you see
Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!

Action – Which of your favorite childhood stories inspire you now? Reconnect, and enjoy them once more, even just for the fun of it!
