There is a saying in the sport of boxing that relates to the principles of success. Although I’m not a big fan of the sport itself, I certainly agree that, in boxing, the winner is usually the last person standing.
Victory comes to the person who can get up after being knocked down just one more time than his competitor.
Success isn’t necessarily about winning or having competition. But it comes from that same perseverance demonstrated by boxers and various other athletes.
Success is about getting back up when you’ve been knocked down.
The history of most successful people is littered with stories of perseverance, taking punches and getting back up after hitting the deck.
Those that create success, however they choose to define it, understand that it will only come to them through persistent, consistent action over time. And that their feet belong underneath them.
Action – What motivates you to get back up again? Is it sheer determination? Or maybe the idea of doing what you thought you couldn’t? Do you need someone near to encourage or kick your butt? What will get you up again when the invariable challenges of creating success knock you back?
Whatever it is, and it varies for most people, create the system to get you on your feet again.
