Your success at any endeavor is directly related to the amount of passion you have for it. And if you don’t love what you’re doing, do something else!
When I say LOVE WHAT YOU DO, I absolutely mean it. Not the feeble ‘ya, I kinda like doing this’ attitude. I mean the no-holds-barred, high desire, get-outta-my-way-I’m-on-a-mission kinda love.
Unrealistic you think?
Look around. The most successful people have an unbridled passion for the things they do.
Let’s look at your work. Would you do what you’re doing even if you weren’t paid for it? If not, then you are not passionate about it. You may like it, it may contribute to the family purse, and you may occasionally get a charge out of your various responsibilities, but if you couldn’t do it without the cash, it’s just a job, not a passion.
And it’s the same with everything that you do.
Action – Divide a sheet of paper by one vertical line. In the left column, write down all those things you are passionate about. And then in the right column, write down how you get to express or demonstrate that passion.
If there are blank spaces on the right side, it is time to make some changes in your life.
Pursue your passions. Anything less is settling for less.
(What do you love to do? Are you giving it enough attention every week, if not every day? What gets in your way?)
