Will you succeed?
I don’t know, let’s find out.
Those six words from Dr. Susan Jeffer’s book Embracing Uncertainty create a really powerful phrase you can use to combat your fears of the unknown.
In our careers, we hold on to an illusion of the known so tightly that we’ll risk less and stop challenging ourselves.
Successful people truly embrace uncertainty. They know what they can and can’t control. No, they don’t leap foolishly off some abyss but they do charge ahead saying “I don’t know, lets find out.”
This phrase can shift your perspective on something that appears unknown and daunting.
Action – Next time you hesitate because your crystal ball is a bit cloudy, simply say “I don’t know, lets find out” and see what shifts in your own mind.
Believe me, these six words are far more powerful than “I don’t know so let’s do nothing!”

This reminds me of a great quote I read today, “You miss 100% of the opportunities you don’t take.”
