When actress Kim Basinger is old, she doesn’t want to be heard saying ‘I didn’t do this’ or ‘I regret that’. She wants to be able to say: I don’t regret a damn thing. I came, I went, I did it all.
Are you going to be able to say that?
Though your definition of ‘doing it all’ will be different from Kim’s, I suspect there are quite a few things you’d like to do but for some reason you are choosing not to.
You are not allowing yourself to do them, or even plan them for that matter. Other than being illegal or immoral, you probably have a whole range of so-called reasons for not following your dreams, like lack of money, being too old, not having enough time or just having far too many responsibilities.
I’m not going to spend any time talking about those excuses!
But I am going to invite you to have some fun for a few minutes.
Action – Grab some paper and start creating your 101 Things To Do Before I Die list.
If 101 seems too much, start with 10 and keep the list nearby so you can add to it over the coming days as new ideas emerge.
I suspect – in fact I know – you will automatically begin creating some of the events on the list.
Go on. I dare ya! You’ll be surprised at what you discover!
(What’s the #1 thing on your list? Please leave your reply in the comments box.)
I’ve actually done this and I”ve got 61 things on my list already and I’ve already accomplished 2 of the things – “see Collective Soul live” (my favourite band of all time – it was awesome) and “learn to play poker” (I can play with the big boys – I’m practically a natural!). Now I’m working on the next thing – “Go back to Vegas” (I went with a school conference a few years ago and now I want to share the experience with my boyfriend so we’re busy collecting Airmiles and saving money to go next September)
