I talk a lot about the skills needed to be successful. Something important to remember, though, is that success takes a lot more than just skills.
To achieve the success in life you want, no matter how you choose to define it, will take a combination of mindset and skillset. I call that attitude and action.
The actions can be learned. Fortunately, the attitude can be learned too.
In fact, almost all beliefs and behaviors associated with creating success are learned.
This is great news, because if some of what you already have is not working for you, then you can relearn new attitudes and actions.
Today, we’re talking about an important attitude that will help you create success.
And that’s the attitude of having a sense of source.
Some people consider this a spiritual source. Others simply feel grounded and centered when they see their children laugh. Still others will consciously pause to watch the sunset, marvel at the range of colors that sweep the sky after a rainstorm or revel in the scents wafting from a garden.
What do these things really have to do with success?
They are all moments when we feel calm, joyful and at peace, even for a few seconds.
The key is to create goals and plans that allow us to go to this sense of source frequently. The more often we go there and the longer we stay, the more successful we actually feel and then subsequently become.
Action – What is your sense of source? Do you even know what it is?
Write out 5 things that represent a sense of source for you.
Whether that is spiritual or not doesn’t matter. What is important is that these things create for you an ease, a feeling of balance or warmth in your heart.
What can you do to be with that sense of source today? Make it happen and then watch what happens!
