Ever noticed how just after you’ve had a big setback, you experience big victory? The reason is simple, but perhaps not one you’ve considered before.
You see, some people fold as soon as the going gets a bit tough. They back down, shy away or simply use the phrase “I can’t.” And so they rarely experience the same joyful feeling of satisfaction and achievement you enjoy.
You get it because you persevered. Yes, you may disagree with me or laugh off your success by calling it luck. But if you have created success in any endeavor after getting bumped off track, it’s because you refocused, re-energized, pushed up your sleeves and kept going!
I suspect that sometimes you forget about your own obvious tenacity and courage.
Action – Get re-acquainted with that goal or project that feels a little distant.
It’s time to get back into gear, just like you’ve done so many times before.
This reminds me of the very important point you made about how each of us has an innate reservoir of persistance and determination – otherwise how did we learn to walk? We need to reconnect with that and push forward. One of the best reminders ever, Nancy!
This reminder shows that, although we may have some failures in life (in any area), we need to change the way of facing them, understanding as part of the learning process. As Nancy mentions, we need to persevere always, especially when we are determined to get our goals.
Sometimes we need to experience a downfall in order for us to know how to correct them or refocus our goals and be stronger to be decisive and responsible for our actions.
This message was particularly timely today. Thank you for the reminder to fight through the challenges. It’s worth it.
This is so timely! I feel like you are talking directly to me, Nancy. A slow recovery from some serious health issues, working at a new job, all feels so overwhelming most days. However, I have had to persevere and overcome life challenges in the past, and got through it stronger and wiser. Thanks for the reminder to re-focus, re-energize and move forward.
