Whether trying to sell someone an service, product or idea, many influencers make a fatal mistake. That error is in thinking the deal is done as soon as the other person agrees with you.
True influence or sales happen when what you are trying to instill or sell is actually utilized.
So, when selling a product, the sale isn’t actually complete until the buyer uses or consumes the product.
For example, my books and articles are written to be read. If I was primarily concerned about collecting cash, I would only focus on a splashy cover or snappy title. Instead, I pay close attention to everything that impacts your choice to read.
And the same holds true for influencing someone to your way of thinking. Package your ideas so that people listen AND give due consideration to your points.
Action – Focus all your influencing and persuasive powers on helping someone else say “more please” instead of just “yes”.
