My husband’s old SUV recently dropped its transmission and we found ourselves shopping for a replacement vehicle. After a lot of street pounding, online digging and newspaper ad reviewing, we finally parted with the right amount of cash for the right car.

As someone who works with a lot of sales agents and managers, part of me was observing the sales process we were going through on this pricey item and the people we met along the way.

Now, the fella who finally helped us secure the deal was very nice, but he made a fatal mistake just after we signed the final papers.

Bob told us that some of the selling features of the vehicle, like memory seats, had been disconnected and were no longer working as he had originally described!

His explanation for the changes was thin and incomplete.

Granted, these did not make or break the deal for us, but they had been appealing. And it may all be very true and above board. But what we ended up with is a bad taste in our mouths. So much so that, now that I’m shopping for another car, we will not be going back to that dealer.

Action – How are you inconsistent or untrustworthy with others? Do you fudge reality or in any way even sniff of impropriety?

Remember, any lack of integrity in your day to day dealings could cost you in many ways!
