One thing I can’t stand is branded corporate greeting cards!
At holidays or special occasions, invariably these cards arrive in the mailbox. Once, after giving a workshop to a group, I received a standard pre-printed note that said “thank you for your time and attention”. No signature, no nothing, it was awful!
In business, don’t do “standard”.
Action – If you want to grab the attention of a potential client, valued customer or admired colleague, handwrite your cards and well-wishes. Yes, have a supply of store-bought cards but write your own personal message on the inside with a good quality pen. Be sure to acknowledge some unique aspect of the relationship that you know is important to the recipient.
It may take a few extra minutes, but in this world of emails, mass mailings and pre-printed everything, handwritten notes, cards and letters speak volumes about your integrity and professionalism.
