Many ask me how they can become more confident in their day to day activities.
There are several techniques to help someone become more confident but all of them rely on a key factor.
Something I call “onesies”.
Confidence to move forward in any aspect of life comes when we push ourselves beyond the point we have achieved before. But it doesn’t necessarily mean taking huge leaps into the unknown. Sometimes, it is simply one extra push. A “onesie”.
If you want to build confidence in your health-related goals, run ONE extra tenth of a mile on the treadmill or have ONE less portion of fattening food today.
To build confidence at work, do ONE extra task beyond that which you committed to.
To build financial confidence, add one additional month’s pay into your retirement fund this year or simply put one extra $20 bill into the savings jar this week.
Action – And most importantly, each and every day, keep ONE more promise that you’ve made – to YOURSELF! Breaking self-promises is the biggest confidence killer there is. Practice being true to yourself, ONE promise at a time.
Confidence comes when we build it through experiences, often just one at a time.
