Why are you expecting a straight path?

Success is not a steady or stable progression. It’s more like a winding trail leading through a dense forest; a few steps forward then an obstacle to navigate, backtrack, checking your compass and a few streams to cross.

But the trail is never hiked unless you are willing to endure the journey. You must take persistent consistent actions over time to get from A to B, then C, and so on.

Expecting anything else leads to unnecessary frustration, stress and perhaps even quitting along the way.

Action – Today, reserve 10 minutes to analyze where you are on your path in relation to a certain long term goal. Have you paused at a fork in the road? Are you moving forward?

If you’ve turned around and are heading back to base camp, stop! If you really want the goal, get back into the forest and stick with the journey.
