A problem shared is a problem halved.

And yet I’m still amazed by the number of professionals who keep their concerns all bottled up inside.

Privately-held troubles corrode energy and motivation. And what is often simple becomes complex when it is left to fester for a while. We can literally become sick with worry.

Ever noticed how much lighter you feel when you’ve offloaded some of your concerns? Or maybe sometimes you experience an awareness just as you are explaining a problem to someone else?

That’s because your brain actually processes the information differently in order to communicate it to another person. Relief or solutions come through this reprocessing.

I’m not advocating whining to everyone, but we all need an outlet for sharing our negative thoughts. This is precisely why your Goal Getter Gang™ is so important.

Action – Have you identified at least one person in your Gang who is specifically tasked with hearing your worries? Ask them to keep you out of a pity party but to be open to listen as you need it.

Sharing concerns is a success strategy, not a sign of failure!
