Does your workday have more work than day? The solution to this problem is quite simple.
Delegate.
Now, hold on – before I lose you here, ANYONE can delegate tasks or activities to others.
Managers, sales people, admin staff and even home-based sole proprietors can always delegate some of their activities to someone else, even if you have to pay for it yourself.
Bob, an extremely busy salesman, was overwhelmed by all the admin tasks his manager was now telling him to do. Plus, his client list was larger than before since the team was downsized. It was a constant battle between unpaid admin tasks and those activities that led to financial reward. No matter what he chose, Bob thought he was losing or missing out on something!
After looking at all this tasks and objectives as well as what he did and didn’t like to do, we found about 7 hours worth of simple admin and financial activities he could hire an assistant for. She was able to do most of the work virtually and the money he paid from his own pocket was insignificant because of the additional high value actions he could take without feeling exhausted. He even started going to his son’s baseball games!
Action – Make a list of non-confidential tasks you could have someone else do for you.
If you spent as little as $50 a week on hiring an assistant of some sort, how much value would that translate into?
