How often have you felt held back by your past?

Imagine that a bungee cord is attached to your waist at one end and to an unmovable object at the other. As you run, the tension of the cord snaps you back (just like the ‘bungee run’ in the photo).

Now imagine that where the bungee is anchored represents some event, failure or success, from your past.

The more attached you are to that event, no matter what the outcome was, the shorter your bungee cord actually becomes. And as you stretch that cord, the greater the increase in tension becomes.

Action – You have at least one event holding you back, just like that bungee cord. What choice, decision, attitude or action do you need to accept now to sever the ties of limitation?

Instead of using huge amounts of strength to fight the forces of attachment, use your might to let go of anything you’ve been hanging on to.

  1. I have been working on this very thing for the last year. I am ready to move forward and leave the past where it belongs.

  2. This is great advice. By letting go, and not getting “stuck” we are able to grow and learn in ways we never imagined!

  3. Cut that cord!!!!When you let it go, the freedom is awesome and exhilarating. Then you can except change and most importantly grow in confidence and self worth.

  4. So clear a concept…thanks for the visual! It makes the decision to cut the “bungee” cord seem like the natural thing to do!
