Stuck on a problem? Not sure what the right decision is?
Here is a simple yet powerful way to get past your obstacle, right now.
Action – Think of the problem or situation that’s bugging you. Really get into it. Start the internal conversation you usually have and allow the feelings to flow for a moment or two.
Now, cast your mind forward in time. The situation is resolved and everything is great. Feel the positive vibes of that time and space. Just be that person who has done whatever it was to get beyond the thing that was in your way.
Are you in touch with that person? Great. So, tell me – what advice would ‘future you’ give ‘present-day you’?
Your inner guide comes from a place of, quite literally, your heart-felt insight and knowledge.
Listen to whatever you hear. There is no better source of wisdom.
Excellent! This is one of my favourites Nancy.
Great one, Nancy! So many people have dreams and do not follow them for the fear of the unknown.
I always followed my dreams and dove right in to the future until my son died a few years ago. That took the wind out of my sails and now, for the first time in my life, I don’t know what to do with myself or what direction to go anymore. I work through it everyday and do hope one day I can be the old me again.
George…I’m sorry for the loss of your son. You will never be the old you again because your life is not the same. But I will pray that you will find peace and comfort with the new you and new life that you are facing. Don’t give up….the best is yet to be.
Thank you Debbie
It is always good to look inside for solutions to situations you find yourself in, I find peace in going to a calm place and really thinking through things. Nancy just phrased this so much better than I could have.
mmmmm Dear Nancy that`s a very interesting question. Usually we are in touch with a person full of negative emotions. So when we find obstacles we try to solve them with a mind full of afflictions. So, I tell you what advice would ‘future me’ give ‘present-day me’?
One very important that I found myself working on it every day. I just imagine and had proof myself what a HUGE difference make`s to solve an obstacle or problem with a clear and clean mind free from afflictions. The perspective and results are a big difference.
I like this one Nancy, and I agree – Take Action.
I try to tackle the biggest problem (or most negative problem) first to get it off my plate…it sure frees up my mind, I find I’m more productive for the rest of the day…and there’s that sense of satisfaction you get from crossing it off the list. It’s an ongoing struggle for me, I’m generally a last minute person.
and George, I can’t imagine how you can pick yourself up after the loss of a child…I’m am so sorry for your loss…
Yes, “eating a frog” first thing in the morning sets you up for a successful day! http://www.obj.ca/Local/2017-03-14/article-4747878/In-praise-of-delays
