Some people feel like their life has little purpose. This type of angst can lead people to spend a fortune on self-help books, coaching, therapy or even some addictive behaviors like drinking and partying too much.
The bottom line is this …
You cannot find a purpose – you must allow it to come through. And in order to do that, you must pay attention to the attitudes and actions that bring you the most joy or motivation.
Action – For the next 30 days, write down what catches your attention in a small notebook. Record things that you are or would like to be involved in. Chat with friends or family about what they see in you and jot down their thoughts. Experiment with different ideas and activities too.
At the end of the month, review the whole notebook. See what starts to stand out.
Because in that, you will begin to see a purpose.
Nancy,
Such a great message! I’ve come to realize that if I can make a positive difference in just one person’s day then therein is my life’s purpose. Random acts of kindness are priceless.
That is a perfect example, MK, of what I’m referring to. It can be that simple yet that meaningful.
Like MK I enjoy helping people, the joy to me comes from the smile of the person you helped.
