I don’t claim to know a whole lot about Buddhism, but there is one aspect of it that intrigues me. We can also find this aspect in different levels of psychology.
We suffer simply because we want something to be different than it is.
When was the last time you felt stressed because things were going well? Probably never because you wanted it to be going well! There was no pain, no longing for it to be something different.
Any area of your life that is uncomfortable right now actually points to something you want to change.
What’s important is that you choose to stop suffering right now by acknowledging and accepting the current situation.
Action – Pick one issue that is creating unease. What do you want to be different? What reality do you need to accept to make the want an achieved goal?
You see, suffering is an indicator, not a requirement!
