Ever felt boxed in? If you have, you’re not alone – it’s not an uncommon feeling in the corporate world!
I’ve spoken many times on how we create our surroundings through language and, for many people, the idea of having infinite possibilities is a difficult notion to grasp.
Action – So, I have a little exercise for you to use whenever you are feeling limited or confined in your choices and opportunities.
Stop whatever you are physically doing, then consciously stop the mental chatter of lack or limit. Next, close your eyes and bring to your imagination a beautiful lake or meadow, or some open vista of your preference.
This body of land or water is so stunning you cannot take your mind’s eye from it. It goes on for soooo long that you can actually see the curve of the earth way off in the distance. Yet, of course, you don’t know what is beyond. And that’s okay.
Now, sit with this image for at least 5 minutes. Make it Technicolor. Make it something you want to reach out and touch.
You see, your limitations only live in your mind. And whenever you use your imagination to see beyond, your possibilities become endless.
