Many people are afraid to be alone in life. But there is a big difference between being alone and being lonely.
It’s my experience that successful people enjoy being alone and yet rarely feel lonely.
Taking solitary time for yourself gives your mind, body and spirit individual attention that is simply not possible with the hustle and bustle of being with others.
Learning to treat yourself exquisitely in that solitude ensures you do not feel lonely. As you immerse yourself in things of your own choice, without interruption, you feel the fullness of your OWN presence. You take up the entire space and are not aware of the absence of others.
Action – Make at least 10 minutes available for being alone every day. Use this time however you wish to nurture your spirit. Build up the length of time over the coming weeks.
And by the way, commuting to work is NOT alone time!
