My husband and I often enjoy quiet evenings of just chilling out watching old TV shows. And recently we started watching the classic series “The Waltons“.
For those of you not familiar with the premise, the show follows the story of a country family living life during the Great Depression of the 1930’s as seen through the eyes of the oldest son, who went on to become a writer.
What makes the show as popular in reruns today as it was originally in the 1970’s is its simplicity and back-to-basics moral message. Stories of hope, adventure, romance, sadness and all the threads of life woven over the foundation of family and love.
In other words, The Waltons epitomizes true and lasting success!
Action – If you don’t know what I’m talking about, find a DVD or internet copy of the show and enjoy an old classic. And for those of you who know exactly what I’m saying … Good night, John Boy!
Good Morning!
I look forward to your emails each day – this one totally hit the nail on the head!
Simplicity and basics of morales and values which has been lost in the last twenty or so years. Thank you, Nancy!
In my large family I am the oldest of five girls and my mom to this day calls me John Boy. I loved this reference to a great show with the morals we need to enjoy our life today. Simple is always better.
That’s so excellent – John Boy! Made me smile. Thank you.
