Over the years, we’ve learned habits that lead us to automatically define our response to situations and events.
For example, when X happens, like having a disagreement with someone, and our response is negative. Y happens, like getting a new client, and our response is positive. We automatically respond one way or the other because we’ve conditioned ourselves to do that.
In other words, the next time an X-like event happens, you’ll respond negatively without thinking about it. And if it’s Y-like, you’ll respond positively.
Action – Write out examples of a positive event and a negative event. Rewrite each in its opposite and see how simple it is to shift to a contrary viewpoint.
You’ll find you can consciously shift your responses – and create your success while doing so!
