What does your organization stand for? Why does it exist?
If you can’t answer those questions, either you’ve not been paying attention or the company has not conveyed it very well.
Or worse, the company has allowed outside pressures and economic challenges to muddy the waters of being a value-based entity.
However, as organizations are run by people, maybe those people allowed their values to drift.
Perhaps they didn’t know it was happening. You see, our values drift when we allow slow erosion of our standards. When we tell little lies more often. Or withhold information more frequently. When we say one thing but actually do another.
Action – Your integrity, as a company or an individual, is one of the most important characteristics you have.
And while opinions may evolve, core values do not fundamentally change. Don’t kid yourself into thinking otherwise.
