Why do we tend to have the same types of jobs, relationships, problems and successes? Well, we are stuck in these cycles because of unchallenged conditioning.

From our earliest moments, we are taught values, norms, beliefs and what’s right or wrong. Our teachers are in school and at home, in the neighborhood, on TV and the internet, and our country’s culture – even well past school age.

And because we are NOT taught to challenge all these teachings, we often just suck them up as absolute truth, not realizing the degree to which we have been conditioned.

Action – Every day, choose one of your attitudes or actions and ask yourself this: what is it about this that makes it appropriate for me?

See what answer comes and follow your analysis until you have a new awareness about the situation.

It doesn’t really matter where something comes from, as long as why it is there is real for you.

  1. Simple, Sound, Solutions that make common sense common knowledge. You hit the nail on the head Nancy and this message is a great reminder for us all to assess and remain aware of what it is that is appropriate for us. Doing something that is not appropriate for us, that may very well be appropriate for someone else, has the potential of getting us in trouble, in a tight situation or be a heck of an unreasonable challenge. We all have predetermined destinies; we have to remain focused on that, not the squirrels that catch our eye. 🙂

  2. Profound! Feels like you just turned the light on and set the wheels turning.

    Thanks very much Nancy.

  3. It gives you pause when you consider your Absolute Truths could be totally false to others based on where they live or how they were educated. Is there no wonder we have problems with relationships.
