People crave living an authentic life. Unfortunately, unscrupulous marketers prey on our desire to find our purpose.

What most of us don’t understand though is that the perceived lack of meaning in our lives is actually driven by the same people who want to sell us the solution.

You see, what marketers know is that every great solution requires a problem!

For example, if I said to you “my 30 day program will make you happier” I’m instantly creating a gap between where you are and where I say you could be. Even if you think you are happy already, you may easily part with your cash to be happier.

Action – The meaning for your life comes in your day-to-day choices … to love, give of yourself and participate, and these choices evolve as life matures.

All the other stuff – the so-called life changing, altruistic hoo-ha – is probably associated with someone else’s desire to make money.

  1. Reading this SSS today is so much easier at the age I am now vs the me of 20 years ago. I was hyper-driven and nothing was ever good enough, always looking for improvements to myself and things around me. Now I see that the less stress I place on myself the more perfect my life seems to be. I am still trying to learn that my job does not define me and that my success in life is not based on what other people think of me. I still have some more growing to do. 🙂

    1. Very true. Lots of growing to do for me when it comes to my success in life is not based on what other people think of me 🙂
