Most cold callers don’t know how to leave a voicemail message that gets attention.
Although I’m not a fan of cold calling to generate business, here is one technique to get a call back instead of having your voice, and your opportunity, erased.
Action – Keep the message as short as possible AND load it with purpose. Something like this:
“Hi, my name is Nancy Morris and I noticed recently that your company is expanding into new markets. I just helped one of my clients increase their revenue by 12% in a new market within six months of entering. I’d like to discuss with you how I could do that for you too. I’ll call you again tomorrow at 2pm but if that time isn’t convenient, please call me back on” … blah blah.
Be sure to repeat your name and number again.
Yes, I’d done a little bit of homework, about 5 minutes, on the company I was calling. And it may well translate into a new client.
