It doesn’t take grand gestures of kindness to make an impact. This truth was brought home to me recently in a spectacular way.
During an MRI scan, I was finding the rather loud tunnel-like machine I was getting stuffed into a bit nerve-wracking.
The nurse, obviously aware of my anxiety, lightly placed her hand on my shin as I disappeared into the mechanism. I was so grateful for that small reassuring act that I sent her a thank-you card a few days later. Not long after, I unexpectedly received a lovely letter back.
Her small gesture to me had provided comfort and mine to her had given acknowledgment and appreciation.
Action – Someone near to you will get far more than you may ever know from a small gesture you can make today. Don’t hold back.
It’s truly amazing how something so little can mean so much.
