Any downturn of income should not send you screaming into the hills. In fact, I know many business people who are financially successful no matter what the economy or business cycle is like.
For example, the nature of the training industry is that the summer months are less active. The phone is quieter and most trainers spend little time delivering courses during the summer.
Or so everyone is led to believe.
Several years ago, when cash was tight, I too thought I wouldn’t be able to get any immediate bookings during the summer. But I needed sales right away.
And then it hit me – no other trainers were out supporting companies who wanted to help their staff. I started phoning companies on Monday and by Friday, I had five new contracts that all started within the following two weeks.
Action – When others are reeling from illusion or fear, step in confidently. Pick up the slack left by others who aren’t really paying attention to the opportunities.
