How would you promote yourself if you had no fear?

When I was first asked that question several years ago, my immediate reply was “contact the local TV station to get an interview on their morning talk show.” Well, after a 5 month stint as a weekly guest on that show, 8 months on the BBC, over four dozen other TV and radio appearances and so many other interviews I’ve lost count, here I am 🙂

Had I not been challenged by my coach to answer that question, I know my business would not be as successful as it is today.

Whether in your professional or personal life, some deceptive fear is holding you back. If it wasn’t there, you’d be free to create whatever you wanted.

Action – Imagine that I am your personal coach. So tell me, what would you do if you had no fear? Be honest, make it big and go for it.

Right now, as Nike says, just do it!

  1. I am extremely afraid of sharks. If I had no fear I would swim across the Pacific Ocean.

  2. If I had no fear, I would work on my own business and not depending on a company that creates products or services so I can have a way of living. I would be doing it by myself.

    1. Hi Rajeev

And what specific actions would you take TODAY (eg I picked up the phone to the television station) to help you move toward these desired outcomes?

  3. If I had no fear, I would finally make my business idea a reality. It’s fear of failure, fear of the unknown and fear of judgement that is holding me back…..

    1. One simple step in the direction you want to go TODAY can help minimize those fears (which of course is just noise). Every successful business owner I know has had fears … they take action anyway! Go for it, and then send me an email 🙂

  4. Nancy,

I love this question, fear has always kept me in place even when I am unhappy with the direction things are going.
