Most people think success and failure are total opposites of each other.

Instead, I propose that we look at success and failure as concepts that travel in a circular motion.

Using this viewpoint, each failure, if seen as an opportunity to learn, immediately becomes a success. And success becomes a failure if we don’t see it as a chance to learn and evolve.

So our lessons actually come from both failing and succeeding.

Success and failure are definitions or states of mind, they are not categorical facts.

Action – If you find yourself stuck because of fears of success or of failure, restructure or reword your old definitions so that you can get moving again.

And know that success and failure aren’t mutually exclusive. They feed each other every single day and they’re both the foundation of how we move ahead.

One Response

  1. I have always learned more from my mistakes than my success. Mistakes keep you on your feet and help you strive to avoid them in the future while success can give you the freedom to set back and enjoy the ride. Trying to succeed is easier than success.

Looking forward to your new book…
