People don’t learn in a straight line; it’s more up and down like a rollercoaster.
You see, when we start to learn, we quickly ramp up by gathering information – pushing to get to the top of the hill.
But when we stop taking in the information and we’re expected to make something happen, we don’t feel like we’re going up anymore. So we plummet down.
Then come thoughts like “I can’t make this work” or “this is too hard.” And with these thoughts comes decreased confidence in oneself. And the downward cycle continues.
So people would rather struggle with what they have NOW rather than risk the deflating experience of not being able to weave new learning into their life.
Action – Instead of cramming everything in, learn what you need to know in small chunks. Get information, then use it for a time. If it works for you, great. If not, learn something else.
