In the last couple of years, companies that provide corporate entertainment or conference facilities have all experienced a freeze on revenues.
But, as most employees will confirm, the worst time for a company to halt it’s expenditure on fun is when staff is being asked to do more with less.
It’s said that, as individuals, our true character emerges in crisis. So, too, does that of an organization. The way a manager or leader handles the impact of a change in profits and how s/he acknowledges the work of the individual can speak volumes about the organization’s values.
Action – It doesn’t take a lot of time, money or effort to reward people for work well done. And even if the wallet is empty, sincere smiles and warm appreciation costs nothing!
