If you’re playing catch up all the time, you’re getting caught up in an ineffective behavior.

If you’re overwhelmed with all the “gotta do” stuff in your life, you may be spending up to 70% of your time in tasks that are actually making you unproductive.

Action – Track your time in thirty minute chunks for three weeks. Go through each day and total up how much time you spend in three different categories:

Now you can manage those categories.

Start by eliminating wasted time. Next, figure out how to reduce the urgencies which usually result from non-urgent tasks that are mismanaged. Finally, schedule at least 50% of your time on your priorities – those things that directly relate to your goals.

Always choose to do the tasks that help you meet your goals first.

    1. It is such an important habit that (a) doesn’t take long to get into and (b) makes a big difference in how we engage with our day…ALL of our day.
