You like your job but maybe you’re feeling a bit bored. While joining a new organization sounds like a good idea, it may also be a bit risky.
So why not shake things up a bit where you are?
It’s not always necessary to change companies to get a renewed feeling about work.
What position in your present company appeals to you? What is the gap between what you do now and what someone in that job might do?
Action – Start to fill that gap by learning how to do what are known as transition activities. These are subset actions of larger tasks.
As you proactively take on some of these transition activities, not only do you create opportunities for possible advancement but you engage your head and hands in work at a different level, increasing your motivation and interest.
Your job may not actually change description, but the tasks you undertake can change how you feel about it.
