choice-a-or-b2

The achievement of your goal is guaranteed the moment you commit to it. You see, once that decision to succeed is made, really made, you cannot fail.

Don’t believe me? Well, where you are now is simply a culmination of all the decisions you’ve made so far.

Yes, some of those decisions may not have benefited you, but what you have or don’t have in life at this moment is directly related to all the decisions you have made to date.

And all the decisions you make from now on will draw a direct line to where you’ll be in 1, 3, or 10 years time.

Action – The key, then, is to be conscious to and aware of your decisions. Understand to the best of your ability WHY you do what you do, or don’t do. And do not give your decision-making power to others.

Being consciously decisive means being the one in charge of your life.

  1. This is really true! You are responsible for every decisions you make. You may ask other people opinion but you will still decide and do the action.

  2. Wonderful Nancy, and so true. We are, who we are today, the sum of all our decisions, both good ones and bad ones. Each decision is a brick in our life path. When we give away our power to others we loose the ability to make more bricks, and our path does not progress.

  3. I really agree Nancy. I’ve just committed to something and nothing short of a natural disaster is going to get in my way. But here’s the thing – the goal I’ve committed to was within my awareness for some time – I knew I needed to take action but I lingered for ages – AGES – over making the decision and finally committing. And some of that time spent feels a bit wasted if I’m honest. As a result I’m interested in exploring the notion of commitment and decision taking and what prevents that. An early post of yours indicates doubt being a big factor – and that’s for sure. Kinda wondering how I can short circuit things next time??

My musings invite and welcome your comments. Thank you xx

    1. Hi Sharon – I don’t believe time is ever ‘wasted’. Sometimes, our pondering has a purpose and, in this case, perhaps the purpose was to ensure the decision was made before you started along the path to success. Without the decision, we sometimes give up at the first sign of difficulty. Also, for myself, when I feel like you do, I actually take pen to paper and write down all my thoughts about the matter (and sometimes that can take several days as they unfold). Your internal wisdom about the whys and wherefores will likely show up on the page somewhere, increasing your self awareness which is what you’re really looking for here.

  4. Hi Nancy and thanks for your thoughts. Yes, I knew on some level that it wasn’t really wasted time – it was process time I suppose. And actually I was journaling when I finally made the commitment to do what I am doing – a practice I’m returning to again for the exact purpose of increasing my self awareness.

Thanks and I hope you are well

    Sharon

  5. Hi Nancy, “conscious and aware”.. funny, I have been contemplating a new Direction for myself and yesterday used those exact words regarding my decisions and success. We really are in complete control of ourselves regardless if we think so or not. If our conscious self does not take control then we are relinquishing the control to outside sources. I’m still not there yet, not ready to commit but the thought process is beginning. Some, have a little voice in their head pulling in a direction opposite the direction they wish to go, but think the little voice IS them. That little voice can create lots of problems. That is where I think being conscious, aware, coherent, Etc come into play. I think It is our conscious self that needs to lead the ship and not our feelings, the little voice, our subconscious, or dreams.
