A need, such as the need to be respected or heard, can drive you towards misery as fast as it can drive you toward success!

Nowhere is this more evident than at the office.

Most of us are not consciously aware of our primary needs in life. And these unconscious needs can push us to take actions that actually get in our way.

For example, if you have an unconscious need to be validated, you may become despondent, anxious or frustrated when your work goes unnoticed. Or, you may take on extra projects and, if you are not recognized for those efforts, negativity abounds.

Action – Look, we all have needs. The key to being motivated positively by those needs is to understand them and get them met consciously, constructively and in a variety of ways.

Your needs ARE a compelling vehicle in your life. The trick is to actually steer them yourself!
