I don’t have a to-do list.
A simple shift of perspective means I have nothing to do but am creating success anyway.
I have an action list. One sheet of paper that simply lists the actions I’m going to take today to move me closer to my goals.
Okay, before you say “changing the name of the list is semantics or cosmetic”, let me ask you this – which phrase sounds more appealing to you … a to-do list or an action list?
Most of us see to-do’s as things we ‘have’ to get done. Yes, we might enjoy some of them but most of the activities feel difficult or heavy. Yet an action list is filled with activities we choose to do to create the results we’re pursuing.
The very word – action – implies being proactive and goal-oriented. It is a powerful word, packed with energy and positive intentions.
Action – For the next 2 weeks, change your to-do list title to action list. Notice how your perspective changes and motivation increases.
And, if you’re like me and others I’ve shared this with, you’ll find that over time, your action list never again includes unwanted goals, someone else’s priorities and overwhelming or tedious tasks. This simple change is really that powerful!
