It is said that the early bird gets the worm.
While that may be so, it is just as true to say than any bird that bothers to put in the effort will also get the worm, because there are more than enough worms for everyone!
And the same holds true for other things too. Money, careers, opportunities – these all exist in real abundance.
The only thing that doesn’t is time. In fact, it is one of the few things in life that you can’t get twice. Nor can you save it up or tuck it away for future use. You can’t bank it or borrow it. You can’t burn it or waste it.
No matter what we do, even if it’s nothing, we’re still using time and eventually it will run out.
Action – So how will you choose to use the next hour before it’s gone?
Repeatedly asking yourself that question doesn’t necessarily make you more efficient or productive, but it does remind you that time comes but once in any given moment.
This is a lesson I think we learn later in life, twenty years ago this would have made no sense to me. Thanks for the reminder.
