Whenever we do something, various neurons fire in our brain. And recent research has proven that ‘mirror neurons’ will fire if we watch someone else doing something.

Why is this important? Because it affects how we learn.

Modeling the behaviors of others is particularly helpful for transferring practical skills. When you watch someone carry out a task, neurons in your brain fire as if you were doing the action yourself, albeit to a lesser degree. This pre-action phase – before you actually pick up the hammer and swing it yourself for example – essentially rehearses your brain and behavior. You are preparing yourself.

Action – Think of how this affects your career or business – there are many skills that you can learn by observing someone. Spend some time watching and learning from someone who is already skilled in what you want to do.
