As I write this, I’m sitting in a local coffee shop, armed with a large mug of hot tea, a sweet snack and several pens.
I am NOT doing this to avoid work though. In fact, I know this departure to a new environment is a way to actually help me get work done.
Like many folks, I’m easily distracted by a ringing phone and incoming emails.
Ironically, the hustle and bustle of the coffee shop doesn’t interrupt my train of thought. I feel motivated and energized. I know this works for me because I’ve been paying attention to my habits and behaviors – those that support and those that detract.
Action – How else could you execute your to-do’s? Is it feasible to spend some time working away from the office? Or perhaps just in another room within the office?
Physically taking yourself away from distractions is better than trying to grit your teeth through them.
