Remember, when dealing with people, nothing is logical.
While that statement may be a slight exaggeration, it’s definitely a reminder that we humans are creatures of emotion.
Your colleague Bob is driving you crazy. You cannot figure out your client Jane. And your spouse is happy one second and miserable the next.
There are no hard and fast rules of how people will respond. The words “everyone” and “always” rarely go well together in the same sentence!
Action – So, instead of bashing your head against the wall of confusion, why not simply embrace it?
Stop thinking about what others “should” or “should not” be doing. Guide, do not direct, someone’s behavior. Be curious, not demanding. Be honest and appreciative, not judgmental.
Know yourself and let others make their own choices.
Live and let live.
It’s a waste of time, yours and theirs, for you to keep wishing people would act more logical.
