Psychologists talk about being in the flow. Getting yourself in the flow, or zone, or mindful, or whatever you want to call it, is not as difficult as you may think.
But there is one thing you must do to get into that frame of mind where time stands still and there are no worries.
You must allow yourself to be fully absorbed by and into what you are doing.
If you liken this peaceful state of mind to the movement of running water, it is actually quite easy to see where the word “flow” comes from. While obstacles may appear before it, water always flows around them. Over time, water has the power to alter these obstacles but it doesn’t stop to navel-gaze, analyze or question its surroundings. It continues on its journey with purpose.
Action – You have been in this flow state before. We all have. But you can get there more often by becoming more conscious of your activities.
Declutter your space, focus your attention on one activity at a time, remove distractions and interruptions, get involved in activities you love and learn to the let the past and the future go.
And literally, go with the flow.
