What you have to do is never as important as what you want to do.
And before you start thinking I’m nuts, let me tell you what I mean.
You and your colleagues probably spend much of your day worrying about or planning for all the things you think you “have to do”. That’s a pretty heavy burden, isn’t it? There’s no joy or freedom in the phrase “have to”.
Yet, that is exactly where you put most of your time and attention.
Our brains physically respond differently to the negative phrase “have to” compared to the positive phrase “want to.”
That is one reason why my own definition of success is simply ‘I am successful when my day is filled with want to’s and not have-to’s.’
Action – Through delegating and just plain ol’ stopping the have-to’s along with making an attitude shift on those that remain, it IS possible to create days filled with want to’s.
I’ve done it for myself and with dozens of clients.
