“Some days you are the windshield, and some days you are the bug!”

That old saying humorously yet accurately reflects that sometimes we feel a lot better about things than at other times.

We create highs and lows in life. And there are times where activities occur outside of our control, and some that are within our control. There is black and white, up and down, yin and yang.

But remember, your perspective is what truly matters. How you view the situation, the choices you make, the way you see yourself and the world, makes a huge difference to the joy or the pain of life’s ebbs and flows.

On those days when I feel more like the bug than the windshield, I struggle far less now than I used to. I accept the very nature of true balance and I fuss and fight far less. This surrender brings with it a lot of calm and patience. I’m still learning, though, but even that feels a lot easier.

Action – Somewhere, you are fighting against the rhythms of life. You are offbeat by resisting something simple. There is a situation or circumstance operating in your life that just needs your acceptance.

Take five minutes right now to begin to let the struggle go. And then notice how clean the windshield actually is!
